They will be shipped back out on Wednesday and you have them on Thursday. Our preferred methods of shipping are USPS, UPS and Fed Ex.
A: JTT applies an automotive quality clearcoat on all the Stage 2 tails. This allows the tinted tails to withstand all year round weather. The tails can be waxed like the rest of the car. They don't require any special care other than washing them when you wash your car and waxing them when you wax the rest of the car. This will keep them looking shiny. The tails should last a long time if you take care of them and they don't get damaged.
A: The clearcoat can take up to 30 days to fully cure so we recommend that you do not wax them for at least 30 days after you get them back from us. However you can wash them without a problem at any time after 2 weeks. We will also email you a form that explains how to care for the lights after they have been shipped back to you.
A: Your tint choices are anywhere from extra-light to dark. The most common choices are light, medium and dark but you can also chose light/medium and medium/dark. A Light tint basically just takes the edge off the red. On a percentage scale it can range from 50% to 35%. It kinda has a black cherry look to it. A Light tail will always show red no matter how bright it is outside. A Medium tint ranges from 35% to 20%. This is probably the most popular request we get. It gives a good compromise between going too light or too dark. A Medium tail will look dark when the sun is not shining on it, but in the sun you will see red. A Dark tail ranges from 20% down to 5%. Dark tails give off the most aggressive look but are still very functional. Dark tails will appear black in pretty much all conditions.
A: A light tint will reduce the light output by average of only 5%-10%. A medium tint will reduce it by maybe on average of 10%-15%. And a dark tint will reduce the light output on average of 15%-20%. Check the photo gallery to see pics of various levels of tint. Please note that the amount of light output lost will vary on the vehicles tail light design and light output in stock form.
A: This is a matter of personal preference. Some people like to take the edge off the red while others like to go with the blacked out look. We prefer a light tint but this is entirely up to the customer and what kind of look they are going for.
A: Each state has it's own laws regarding tinted tail lights. What's most important is that no matter how dark you get your tails tinted, the light still shines through and shines in the same color as if the tails were still untinted. The tint does not change the color of either the brake, turn signals or reverse lights. What we recommend to people is that if you are worried about getting pulled over, go with a light tint. Check with your local laws to see if they are legal. Please note, JTT does not accept any responsibilty if you get a ticket for them. JTT also can not be held liable if your vehicle is involved in an accident.
